Thinking About Winter

Recently, it seems that my newsfeeds have been filled with wishes for winter to be over. It's so strange for us to wish our time away rather than enjoy every fleeting moment. While the rest of Cape Town (and South Africa, in general) spends their free time huddled under blankets, seeking refuge in their living rooms, I find myself looking out of my window at the rolling, powerful waves of the ocean and feeling completely blessed.

Winter is a time for reflection. It presents the perfect opportunity to have those discussions with yourself that you can never seem to make time for throughout the busier periods in the year. You would be amazed at the changes that take place in your life if you set aside these moments for yourself.

When you look at the world around you during the colder months of the year, Mother Nature seems to be asleep. It almost feels as though nothing is going on out there but if you give it some thought, you'll realise that this is when the real magic happens. Behind the scenes, the world is preparing itself for a new beginning. This too, should be your chance to make preparations for a grand new season in your life and career.

We all hope for exciting new opportunities in our lives. We hold thumbs that we'll finally have the chance to achieve our goals. Of course, the best way to make these things happen is to reflect on our current situation in order to discover where relevant changes need to be made. Be kind to yourself during this process and you'll learn so much more.
